Adams was born to a U.S. Army officer in Italy and was raised to be a resident of Castle Rock Colorado. At the beginning of 1990, Adams started dancing and performing professionally at Boulder's Dinner Theatre as well as the Country Dinner Playhouse. She then moved to Minnesota and was made a part of Drop Dead Gorgeous, a documentary mock film that focused on beauty contests. Her move into Los Angeles after making her debut on screen as the snarky but good-natured contestant. Her husband was the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 from September 1962 to June 1951 and she was the mom of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's career in film began in the mid- 1940s, after she was accepted by MGM. She had been noticed by Norma shearer. Leigh was a star in a variety of films that became popular over the decade that followed, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from the year 1960) as well as Living It Up (1954) with Martin Lewis.
