Taylor-Joy has five siblings four from her father's prior marriage. Buenos Aires was her home up until the time she reached age 6 and the family moved to Victoria within London. Taylor Joy states that the move was extremely stressful. She was not willing to learn English and believed she would be able to move back to Argentina. Hill House had to be her new school after she moved from Northlands. In the following year, she joined Queen's Gate School to study dance and perform in productions of the school. She dropped out of high school at 16 to focus on her acting career. Taylor-Joy's dream to be a professional actress began at a very young age.
